Camp Cell

The Camp Cell runs Disorient camp at Burning Man.

First implemented in 2022, the Camp Cell replaces the role of Camp Lead of years past. This means that Camp Lead responsibilities are now distributed amongst the active Disorient members in the Camp Cell. This choice emphasizes the collaborative and distributed aspects of Disorient.

Organization

- Camp Cell activities start at the beginning of each Gregorian calendar year.
- Members do not have to be leaders of other Cells but may take on other Cell Lead responsibilities.
- Members need to have camped with Disorient for at least 3 years.
- Members are invited by the Directors each year.
- Active members of the Camp Cell are allocated Disorient tokens for each year of service.
- Camp Cell is dissolved after each Burning Man. A new Camp Cell is created each year.

Communication

- Camp Cell members communicate through a private Camp Cell channel on Disorient Discord.
- Camp Cell banner to share in camp. This banner displays photo/playa name of all the members of the Camp Cell so campers can contact any with questions. This poster could also include photo/playa name for Leads of other Cells i.e. Kitchen, Club House, Power, Sustainability, Music, etc.
