Disorient offers scholarships to help ease the cost of dues for those who need it. While we rely on most campers to pay full dues, we know that cost can be a real barrier. If that’s the case for you, we invite you to apply. The application is simple, and we trust you to ask for what you need. If you're in a position to contribute more, your generosity helps keep Disorient accessible for all.

Program Guidelines

Disorient scholarships are offered on a sliding scale based on needs and contributions. Please carefully review the content below before applying.

Program Restrictions

— First-time campers are not eligible to apply.
— Scholarship is given based on the dues rate the applicant registered under.
— You may not submit an application on someone else’s behalf unless the applicant has a disability that prevents them from submitting it themselves.
— You must provide proof of your income and expenses; applications without documentation cannot be considered.

To apply, please email scholarships@disorient.camp with:
1. One paragraph on your plan for this year's burn
2. One paragraph on why you're requesting the scholarship
3. One of the following financial documentation:

      * Proof of Income: Pay stubs, invoices, disability/unemployment benefit statements, letters from employers, or proof of freelance work.
      * Non-Traditional Income or Expenses: Bank statements showing deposits or payments, self-maintained freelance work ledger, community support letters, a letter from the professor you’re doing that unpaid internship with, or affidavits explaining your financial situation.
      * Tax Documentation: Tax returns or W-2 forms (2023 or 2024), or equivalent tax forms from other countries.
      * Short paragraph explaining why above are not available or necessary.
