Distributed Coalescence
A more distributed Country Club with an adjusted level of granularity.
Refocus CC production
- Leverage offerings from existing camps, empower participants.
- Enhance camp support.
- Connect participants through placement.
- Conceive and promote aggregation of projects.
- Reward loyalty. Support camps (financial, logistics, etc.) that have shown dedication to CC.
- Reward quality. Support camps that offer original and high value content.
Islands
- Create "Islands" by grouping together several mission-aligned camps from different registers i.e. sculpture, music, performance, video, etc. This is already happening organically so let's give it a boost and help like-minded offerings connect.
- Islands offer a richer experience than single installations. An Island is a mini world that should be enticing for all CCers to explore and spend time in. Each Island has a distinct identity with a variety of offerings. Warmth and comfort, fire and seating should be a priority for all Islands. Provide campers with options to safely experience different moods through CC's many Islands.
- CC becomes an archipelago. Widely distribute Islands geographically throughout CC land to create destination poles. Clear-up pockets of land to activate new areas on the land, in particular around the lake. But don't clear-up too much. Leave areas between Islands wild. Just clear paths to connect Islands when needed. Make the exploration playful and safe (no tall grass) for participants.
Rethinking CC central space
- No more main dance floor. Create incentives for Islands to host events including dance parties.
- Main space is a chillout tent with comfortable seating, fire with the Pentagonal Urn in the center, a minimal DJ setup near the center of the space (no stage, just a table), small sound system (this is not a loud environment), 0-100 BPM music, chill live performance, spoken words, craft sessions and use lights fabricated for CH23 for Candle Vibe lighting at night.
